Dr. David Ortega

David Ortega is Assistant Professor of Global Agri-food Systems at Michigan State University. He is appointed in the tenure system at MSU. His research program is strategically positioned at the nexus of food marketing, agribusiness management and international development. While his research spans a broad range of topics in domestic and global agrifood systems, his main focus is on understanding and informing consumer, producer and agribusiness decision-making. It is well known that agrifood systems around the world have undergone drastic changes over the past few decades. At the core of David’s research program is quantitative preference and choice modeling which he applies to critical and timely issues.
